Smart Conversion for Second Life Batteries

In operation

Entech smart energies has worked on the smart Conversion project for Second Life Batteries (CSV). The project was the winner of the ADEME investments for the future programme, innovation competition.

The project goals
The CSV project presents an efficient and economically viable solution for the second life of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The storage capacity of these batteries is still greater than 70% when they are withdrawn from EVs.
The project allows the period of use of electric vehicle batteries to be optimised by 100% favouring the sustainable emergence of electric vehicles and intermittent energies. By producing an operational demonstrator then production series, the CSV allows several tens of thousands of second life batteries to be used annually for stationary storage.
The CSV system is connected to the continental grids for improving the quality of service or for supplying green energy for self-consumption, such as island or highly perturbed grids thus, favouring access to energy.
Cost of the project: €788,180 including PIA (Investment for the future programme) support: €343,341

Electric vehicle batteries are reused for stationary storage and so their service life is optimised.
