Marine energy prototype – D10 tidal turbine

Immersed in the Fromveur passage, off the coast of the Island of Ouessant, Sabella D10 is a tidal turbine demonstration project. The machine is 10 metres in diameter and has a power of 1 MW.
Laid on the seabed at a depth of 55 metres, D10 is the first tidal turbine to inject original marine power into the French grid and has been operating since November 2015.
Entech smart energies has designed the energy conversion system on-board this tidal turbine.
