Autonomous platform – Wave energy generator
In operation
The supply of energy for isolated installations at sea is a problem encountered in many sectors: off-shore wind farms, off-shore oil platforms, scientific research, aqua-farming, etc.
The Wavegem autonomous platform allows isolated installations at sea to be supplied with energy, by replacing the very fuel thirsty and polluting diesel generator sets during maintenance operations.
This platform allows reliable, abundant energy to be produced from waves and with a low surface-area of photovoltaic panels.
Entech SE has been able to offer an innovative hybrid system of energy storage composed of Li-ion batteries on the one hand and super-capacitors on the other. Supercapacitors are components able to store a large quantity of energy over very short times. By their characteristics, supercapacitors allow variations to be effectively corrected for and for a smooth, usable production curve to be obtained.
