First Contract in Belgium – 170 MW / 340 MWh BESS
Entech announces the signing of a contract for the construction of a 170 MW / 340 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) through a temporary consortium with Eiffage Énergie Systèmes. The two companies intend to prioritise this form of cooperation going forward and have agreed to bring their joint venture partnership established in 2024 to an end once the projects currently under construction have been delivered.
Joint venture achieves its objective
Over the past two years, the joint venture has secured several major contracts, enabling the Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and Entech teams to combine their expertise and contributing to both partners’ business activity and financial performance under the agreed allocation (40% Entech / 60% Eiffage Énergie Systèmes).
As this arrangement is no longer suited to their needs, Entech and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes have mutually agreed to bring the joint venture partnership to an end and move to project-by-project cooperation. This decision does not affect Entech’s short- or medium-term objectives under its 2029 roadmap.
Contract signed in Belgium through a consortium with Eiffage Énergie Systèmes
Entech announces that it has signed, through a consortium with Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, a contract for the construction of a battery energy storage system in La Louvière, Belgium.
The contract has been awarded by Aukera, the pan-European renewable energy and battery storage platform backed by AtlasInvest, Reggeborgh and SFPIM (Belgium’s sovereign wealth fund).
The project covers the turnkey construction of a 170 MW / 340 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), to be connected to ELIA’s Belgian transmission grid, with commissioning scheduled for mid-2027.
The project also includes a two-year operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement.
Accelerating international expansion
Entech has strengthened its leadership in the utility-scale energy storage market, demonstrating since 2025 its ability to scale up and deliver major projects in France and internationally.
This step change in scale is already reflected in the results for the first half of 2026, with strong growth in revenue and profitability, providing Entech with the financial capacity to accelerate its international expansion.
