ENTECH joins the international microgrid demonstrator REIDS-Singapore with Engie

  • Inside one of the largest microgrid demonstrator in the world
  • A new international showcase for Entech technologies
  • A first partnership with Engie, a global player in energy

Entech, the technology company specializing in the storage and intelligent management of renewable energies, has been selected to equip the Engie platform within the REIDS demonstrator, one of the largest research and development projects microgrid to the world. Entech will design and produce a complete microgrid system (storage, conversion management and control).

Entech will deliver a turnkey battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of 1,026 kWh. Entech is thus initiating a close collaboration with Engie’s R&D teams: Engie Lab Crigen in Paris, Engie Lab Laborelec in Belgium and Engie Lab Singapore.

Based at the Semakau Island landfill site in Singapore, the Renewable Energy Integration Demonstrator – Singapore (REIDS) is a research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) platform for sustainable and profitable energy solutions. REIDS is a large-scale laboratory for industries, researchers and government agencies, to explore next-generation micro-grid solutions and solve the technical, economic, environmental and societal challenges of energy transition for urban and non-urban communities’ network.

Engie’s SPORE (Sustainable Power for Offgrid REgions) platform, built in collaboration with the Energy Research Institute of the Nanyang Technological University, consists of an advanced multi-fluid micro-grid solution that generates 650 kW of electricity. It is self-sufficient in energy thanks to various renewable energy sources and integrated storage solutions.
